Partnering with Gander was a strategic move to leverage innovative design in enhancing user experiences for shops and supermarkets. Our objective was to develop a seamless, engaging platform that helps retailers reduce waste, attract customers, and gain valuable insights into consumer behaviour. By focussing on intuitive design and clear calls to action, we aimed to transform Gander into a powerful tool that integrates effortlessly with existing systems, delivering real-time benefits to both retailers and consumers.
Opportunity: Gander's original homepage needed an improved UX and clearer calls-to-action (CTAs) to boost user engagement and conversion rates.
Decision: We redesigned the homepage with a clean and intuitive layout that emphasises essential CTAs. By simplifying navigation and highlighting key benefits for retailers and consumers, we made it easier for users to understand Gander's value proposition. Clear CTAs guide users to explore the platform's features and benefits, encouraging them to engage and take action.
Opportunity: The original "Bruce in the Box" app interface for retailers and shops was difficult to use, making it time-consuming for staff to manage and update reduced products.
Decision: We enhanced the UX and usability of the app to streamline the process of managing reduced products. The redesigned interface features a clear and organised list of currently reduced products, allowing staff to quickly view and manage inventory. Intuitive buttons for adding new products and editing quantities simplify these tasks, reducing the time required. Additionally, the app's navigation was optimised to ensure all essential functions are easily accessible, making the process faster and more efficient for retail staff. This improved design ensures retailers can manage reductions swiftly, leading to better inventory control and increased productivity.
Problem: The original waste products flow in the app was overly complex, making it time-consuming for supermarket staff to manage waste efficiently amidst their numerous tasks.
Decision: We simplified the waste products flow to enhance speed and ease of use. The updated flow starts with a streamlined menu bar featuring a clearly marked waste mode tab. Users can begin the process by entering barcodes manually or using the open camera for quick scanning. The intuitive and fast camera screen allows for rapid scanning of multiple products. Finally, the waste queue list enables staff to manage all selected products with minimal steps. This streamlined approach ensures supermarket staff can complete the waste process quickly and efficiently, freeing up their time for other important duties.
Challenge: Retailers needed a comprehensive and intuitive CRM system to monitor live reductions, sales, and waste, but such a system did not previously exist.
Decision: We designed the Gander Console dashboard from scratch to meet these needs. The new dashboard features detailed infographics and visual data representations that provide real-time insights into live reductions, the number of items sold, and the amount of waste. Each store's performance metrics are prominently displayed for easy comparison and analysis. The layout prioritises critical information, enabling retailers to quickly access and understand key performance indicators. This new design empowers retailers to effectively monitor their operations and make data-driven decisions to enhance their efficiency and profitability.
